Yale Hermoso
Name: Yale Hermoso
Type: Patache
Nationality: Portuguese
Date: 09/11/1941
Place: Pedrosa Point
There were boats whose cargos brought something of joy, filling bellies with oranges, cod, champagne or breathing in the smoke of tobacco leaves. Some of them transcended and became part of songs in Carnival troupes.
In the limits of the Pedrosa Point, on 9 November 1941, the Portuguese patache Yale Hermoso crashed. It was loaded with tobacco leaves, in the middle of a period of scarcity and rationing, and provided great delight to the few people who could reach the ship before the sea and the state tobacco company take charge of the cargo.
