Rosario nº 2

Name: Rosario nº 2
Type:  Dredger
Nationality:  Dutch
Date: 11/01/1904
Place: Batedora (Santa Mariña)

On the night of 11th to 12th January 1904, in the Batedora shallows, on the coast of Santa Mariña, the dredger Rosario n.º 2 crashed, on its way from Rotterdam to Rosario, Argentina. It was a new ship, lost, like so many others, due to a navigation error.
The 15 crew members were saved by the inhabitants of Santa Mariña, who transported them to land one by one by means of lifeline, the heavy swell preventing the launching of lifeboats.
