On 30 August 1902 the people of Arou came across an abandoned boat, without any sign of human presence, between the rocks of the Lobeiras sandbank. No one knew its name or its flag. The only clue was a diary in a drawer, written in Italian and belonging to a certain Signore Mazzini.
