Constancia
Name: Constancia
Type: Corvette
Nationality : Spanish
Date: 07/03/1896
Place: Carnicería point (Camariñas)
This corvette belonged to some A Coruña shipowners, who transported from Camariñas to Cardiff pines from the sawmills of A Ponte do Porto to be used as props in the coal mines of Wales. Loaded with pines they attempted to launch at six in the morning on 7 March 1896, with a light breeze that allowed them to sail close to the wind, turning about forwards to avoid the breakers. But the wind and the currents prevented the boat from manoeuvring and it was cast upon the rocks.
